These simple banana and chocolate spring rolls are a quick, healthy treat using just a few ingredients. Fresh or lightly cooked, they’re perfect for a snack or dessert and naturally align with longevity-friendly eating—mostly plant-based with fruit, dark chocolate, and seeds.
Ingredients (Makes 8 Rolls)
4 medium ripe bananas
8 rice paper wrappers (spring roll size, about 22cm)
80-100g dark chocolate (70%+ cocoa), chopped
1-2 tbsp honey (or maple syrup)
2 tbsp chia seeds
Optional: Fresh berries or other fruits (strawberries, blueberries, mango), Greek or plant-based yogurt for extra creaminess
Instructions

Prep the ingredients: Slice the bananas lengthwise into 2-4 pieces each. Chop the dark chocolate into small pieces.
Soften the wrappers: Fill a shallow bowl with warm water. Dip one rice paper wrapper at a time for 5-10 seconds until soft and pliable. Lay it flat on a clean, damp kitchen towel or plate.
Assemble: Place banana slices in the center of the wrapper. Sprinkle with chopped chocolate. Fold the bottom up, tuck in the sides, and roll tightly like a burrito. Repeat with the remaining wrappers.
Cook (optional): Enjoy fresh as is, or lightly brush with a tiny bit of butter and cook for 2 minutes or until golden. Flip halfway. They’re delicious either way!
Finish and serve: Drizzle with honey and sprinkle chia seeds on top. Add fresh berries or a spoonful of yogurt if you want them creamier.
Total time: 15 minutes. Best eaten fresh, but they keep in the fridge for up to a day.
Simple Variations
Add other fruits inside the rolls (berries, kiwi, or mango work great).
Mix a bit of yogurt with the banana for a creamier filling.
Swap honey for a sprinkle of cinnamon or cacao nibs.
For extra crunch, add a few chopped nuts or more chia seeds.
